Introduction

Aapla Aamdar is a citizen-first civic-tech platform designed to simplify access to governance-related information in Maharashtra. The platform brings together election data, elected representative information, government schemes, public welfare programs, and government job opportunities into a single searchable experience for citizens.

Challenge

Government information is often scattered across multiple websites, departments, and portals, making it difficult for citizens to discover relevant schemes, find constituency information, understand election data, or connect with elected representatives. The challenge was to consolidate these fragmented sources into a platform that was accessible, searchable, and easy to understand for everyday users.

Solution

I designed and developed a centralized civic information platform that aggregates public data related to Maharashtra governance. The platform provides searchable directories for MLAs, MPs, constituencies, government schemes, and job opportunities while presenting complex public information through a clean and mobile-friendly interface. The architecture was designed to support future citizen engagement features, complaint systems, and direct communication channels between citizens and public representatives.

Outcome

The result was a scalable civic-tech platform that improves access to public information and encourages greater citizen participation in governance. By consolidating election statistics, welfare schemes, representative data, and government opportunities into a single destination, the platform established a foundation for future citizen-government engagement initiatives across Maharashtra.
